Community Cancer Educational Forum Set for May 31, 2008

Just as Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH) gets set to open its Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center this June, the hospital is proud to announce a free community event:

“Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Educational Forum”

The forum, hosted by AGCH along with Drs. David Palchak, Edwin Hayashi and Howard Hayashi, will be held at the Clark Center at Arroyo Grande High School on Saturday, May 31, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Six distinguished experts will present at this informative forum:

  • Urologist Craig Canfield, M.D.
  • Gastroenterologist Jeffrey Mundorf, M.D.
  • Radiologists Stephen R. Holtzman, M.D.
  • Obstetrician Edward DeLeonardis, M.D.
  • Gynecologist Randall Safarik, M.D.
  • Registered Dietitian Danielle Landry, MS, RD.

See how choosing a healthy lifestyle and environment can help you prevent cancer:

  • Can you prevent cancer or reduce your cancer risk?
  • How can you detect cancer early?
  • What are the risk factors for different types of cancer?
  • Concerned about cancer because it runs in your family?
  • Frequently exposed to tobacco or environmental hazards?
  • Just want to stay healthy?

You can find answers to these questions and more by attending this forum.

Reservations to the free “Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Educational Forum” are required and can be made by contacting Roberta Alderete, AGCH Community Educator, at (805) 473-7662.
