AGCH Successfully Installs First Phase of PACS
The first phase of a new picture archiving communication system (PACS) has successfully been implemented in the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH) Radiology Department. The DG Systems PACS offers AGCH radiologists and other hospital clinicians the ability to retrieve, share, and remotely access complex, two-dimensional scan data within the hospital. "PACS is already streamlining and expediting diagnosis within our walls," said Kurt Ramey, AGCH Diagnostics Director. "Once the system is connected to local physicians' offices, getting the data they need for diagnosis will be instantaneous," he added.
PACS gives clinicians "on demand" access to patient data. It can support the smallest single X-Ray room to the largest multi-site installations processing millions of radiology exams per year. The next phase of PACS, making the data available to physicians regionally, is expected to be completed by year's end at AGCH.
