Arroyo Grande Community Hospital now offers patients who have suffered a life changing illness or trauma, comprehensive therapy services in our new, spacious 14-bed inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Center. The center is located on the hospital’s main campus at the back of the facility at 345 South Halcyon Road in Arroyo Grande.
We offer a wide range of specialty therapies to help patients improve mental and physical functioning after a life changing event due to a disabling illness and some major orthopedic and general surgeries.
We provide intensive rehabilitative services for patients who have suffered functional loss from illnesses such as:
- Major Multiple Trauma
- Brain Injury
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Orthopedic Dysfunction
- Degenerative Neurological Disorders
Our program ensures an optimum level of recovery for these patients. Our treatment team includes a Physiatrist (a physician who specializes in physical therapy), Rehabilitation Nurses and Social Workers along with Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists, Registered Dietitians, Respiratory Therapists, Family Physicians as well as Orthotic/Prosthetic Specialists.
Our Acute Rehabilitation Center is the only one of its kind in a 200 mile radius. With its location at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in southern San Luis Obispo County, it will serve patients from all over the Central Coast. Patients who are treated here, must be capable of at least three hours of therapy each day.
Family members of our patients are an integral part of our team and are encouraged to participate from the initial assessment through the daily treatment regimen, discharge planning and post inpatient phases.
